October Tarotscopes!

The Death card reminds us that all good things must come to an end, and October is the last month of Tarotscopes on this blog! But don’t worry, the Tarotscopes aren’t going away, just moving to my author blog (managing two blogs got too complicated). I’m drawing one card for each sign from the Tarot’s Major Arcana and the second from its elemental suit. E.g. since Libra is an air sign, one card is drawn from the Major Arcana and one from the Tarot’s air suit, swords, for Libra. (Standard disclaimer: Tarotscopes are for entertainment purposes only). And in honor of the season, our gif theme is Hocus Pocus. Libra, September 23 – October 22: Page of Swords and The Chariot. Your brain is in overdrive, but think (or feel) carefully. Are you being driven by conscious or subconscious desires? Neither is inherently good or bad, but it’s important to figure out where these thoughts are coming from. The best outcome places your higher self in the driver’s seat. Scorpio, October 23 – November 21: …

ParaNormal News This Week! Sept. 16, 2016

Halloween is getting closer, and the paranormal news is taking a turn for the pumpkin patch. 1)Ghost pics are everywhere on the Internet, but this photo earns a spot in ParaNormal News of the Week because the picture was taken in a “witch’s temple” in Edinburgh’s Niddry Vaults. It’s also a lovely shade of violet. 2) If you grew up reading Roald Dahl, then this one’s for you. Someone’s created Tarot cards for various Roald Dahl characters. (Willy Wonka as the Magician? Totally!). Unfortunately, there’s no full deck available, so we’ll have to just feast our eyes on the incomplete online version here. 3) Greek vampires and haunted apples? This top 10 list of weird old European creepy stories is all kinds of amazing. 4) And proving once again that most people go to psychics for a love connection, this reporter asked a psychic to evaluate her Tinder prospects. 5) Halloween is on its way, and it’s time to get out your inner witch and, er, put her on the outside. Here are 11 witchy …

Paranormal News of the Week: Sept. 9. 2016

It’s another wild and wacky week of paranormal news — most reported by foreign outlets about America. Not sure if there’s any meaning in that… 1) Did engineers solve the mystery of the spooky Paulding forest lights in Michigan? Locals say, “no way!” 2) A witch robs graves in New Orleans, gets caught. Must it be explained that grave robbing is illegal and wrong? Apparently, it must. 3) Is an Australian house haunted by Jack the Ripper? Since my prime suspect did not retire in Australia, I’m going to say “no.” But still, who’d want this ghost in your house? 4) Move over Extraterrestrial Highway. Is the entire 37th Parallel UFO central? 5) By now you’ve probably heard the sequel to Blair Witch is on its way. But who cares! There’s a spoof trailer! About the Author Kirsten Weiss writes genre-blending steampunk suspense, urban fantasy, and mystery, mixing her experiences and imagination to create a vivid world of magic and mayhem.

ParaNormal News of the Week! Sept. 2, 2016

Entertainment, fashion, and UFOs! It’s the paranormal news of the week! 1)First up in fashion news, did all those sexy witches on TV and films inspire your desire for magic and mystery? I might have to plead guilty on this one. Nine glam outfits from ’90s witchy film and TV. 2) More proof that paranormal-themed entertainment is not dead. Fox has ordered a pilot for an X-Files-inspired comedy, Ghosted. 3) A skeptic explains why we love to believe in the paranormal.  4) And in more entertainment news, three films you’ve probably never heard of that were supposedly cursed. 5) A Southwest plane recently had to make a (thankfully successful) emergency landing in Florida after an engine blow-out. Some are saying a UFO was responsible.  In more UFO news, some odd videos were taken around the International Space Station. Could they be… UFOs? September Tarotscopes! 2016

I’m drawing one card for each sign from the Tarot’s Major Arcana and the second from its elemental suit. E.g. since Virgo is an earth sign, one card is drawn from the Major Arcana and one from the Tarot’s earth suit, pentacles, for Virgo. (Standard disclaimer: Tarotscopes are for entertainment purposes only). Share this on Facebook>>> Virgo, August 23 – September 22: Judgment and the Ace of Pentacles. You’re being called to action, Virgo, and if you choose to take on the assignment, you can reap massive rewards. The Ace of Pentacles promises all sorts of goodies on the material realm. But manifesting takes work. Don’t expect it to necessarily come easily, but if you put the time in, it will happen. Libra, September 23 – October 22:  The Empress and the Two of Swords. You’ve got a decision to make, and the answer is there, if you’re receptive to it. This is a time to listen, really listen, to yourself and others. Scorpio, October 23 – November 21: The Hierophant and the Six of …

An interview about his three favorite cryptids. 2) Before Harry Potter… Six life lessons from The Wizard of Oz. 3) There’s a Blair Witch sequel coming, and two fresh teasers have been released! 4) And in local news (for me, at least), what’s the story behind these mysterious rock walls in the East SF Bay area? 5) Your word of the day: Mysticore. The new term for the New Age movement (which was only new in the sixties). About the Author Kirsten Weiss writes genre-blending steampunk suspense, urban fantasy, and mystery, mixing her experiences and imagination to create a vivid world of magic and mayhem.

ParaNormal News: Aug. 19, 2016

Things are getting crazy out there…. Share this on Facebook>>> 1)Poltergeist activity got so bad at one Scottish family’s house that their pet dog levitated. Granted, it was a chihuahua and not a doberman, but still… 2) I’m not sure if this is paranormal or theological, but these scientists claim there is life after death. 3) Want to become a demonologist? Come on, I know you do. Apparently, these days you can do it online. Constantine would be rolling in his grave (if he was dead and not a fictional character). 4) Spellcasting with… emojis? Here’s how they’re doing it on Tumblr. 5) Some crazy superstitions through the ages about single ladies. About the Author Curator Kirsten Weiss worked overseas for nearly twenty years, in the fringes of the former USSR and in South-east Asia.  Her experiences abroad sparked an interest in the effects of mysticism and mythology, and how both are woven into our daily lives.
